Specialized Traumatic Brain Injury Services
VSP offers a comprehensive treatment program for people with brain injuries through collaborative efforts with Neuropsychological Rehabilitation Services (NPRS) and Living Resources Home Care. We believe that veterans with head injuries deserve the opportunity to establish meaningful roles and relationships as they transition to post-injury civilian life. We strive to educate, train, patiently guide and encourage veterans and their loved ones throughout this process.
Professional Home Health Services
Living Resources Certified Home Health Care Agency (CHHA) is available to provide intermittent, skilled health care services in the comfort of your home. We work with the patient, family, and physicians to develop comprehensive services to meet individualized home care needs.
Home Health Aides and Companion Services
Through our Licensed Home Care Agency (LHCSA), VSP provides care to individuals in the community who need assistance with activities of daily living or who simply need a companion to provide socialization and non-medical household support. We conduct Home Health Aide and Personal Care Aide classes for our employees as approved by the New York State Department of Health. Many of our caregivers have experience not only in home care but also working with individuals with developmental disabilities and brain injuries.
Living Resources created one of the first supported employment programs in the Capital District and has been providing employment services for individuals with disabilities since 1985. We currently serve approximately one hundred individuals in Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, and Saratoga Counties.
Outreach, Assessment, and Advocacy
With support from Living Resources Foundation, The VSP offers specialized outreach, assessment, and advocacy for veterans with need. The VSP works with each veteran to identify needs, maximize access to benefits, and make referrals to other community providers and/or government agencies.
Living Resources proudly supports and utilizes veteran-owned businesses to support our operational needs. Consumers participating in Day Programs for People with TBI and Developmental Disabilities actively engage fundraising and volunteerism to support veteran and military charities.
